John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who was a specialist in folk music, touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have been a major influence on many to move to the state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declares that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for many people around the world. People you meet in different countries, such as New Zealanders. They say "I come Colorado" and they say "I am from Colorado" and they react by saying Oh John Denver. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles following a performance with a smaller folk groups. The song was written and recorded by Bill Danoff.
